VisitEngland Launches Action Plan

VisitEngland has set out its framework to achieve an additional £50bn visitor spend and generate more jobs in its ten-year plan. The tourist board's Strategic Tourism Framework was officially launched at British Tourism Week earlier this month. The framework highlights the action needed to maximise the tourism industry's contribution to England's economy, employment and quality of life. The visitor economy is now worth £97bn a year and employs over 2m people. The framework says an extra £50bn in visitor spend, and over 225,000 jobs, can be created, outperforming most other major sectors of the economy, such a manufacturing.
