The Stanley Head Outdoor Education Centre is under threat of closure by Stoke on Trent City council as it seeks to reduce its 2011/12 budget. Closing the Centre woud save the council £92,000.The 30 acre 70 bed centre offers activities including climbing, abseiling, caving, canoeing, archery and mountain biking to young people and employs 12 full-time staff, eight part-time and several casual staff.
