The UK Outdoor Sector Guide recently published by SkillsActive shows a 3.8% growth in employment levels over a 5 year period. The report produced with its Outdoor Employers Group estimates the size of the outdoor sector workforce is between 60-88,000 with a gross value added output of £430m. The report also highlights the associated workforce development issues facing the sector with a particular focus on skills gaps, sector needs and barriers to development. The Guide is the first part of a suite of documents that will form SkillsActive's outdoor workforce development plan.
