Raasay House Outdoor Centre to be restored

A historic clan mansion on Raasay destroyed by fire in 2009 is set to rise again as an outdoor adventure centre, thanks to a multimillion-pound restoration. Raasay House was destroyed by fire just as building firm Rok was nearing the end of a modernisation programme for the 260-year-old Grade A structure. When up and running again, Raasay House will be leased by the owners, Raasay House Community Company, to the Raasay Outdoor Centre and act as a base for everything from sea-kayaking to abseiling, hillwalking and mountain biking.
