Outdoor Council Explode Myths

The English Outdoor Council, has just released their latest publication 'Nothing Ventured..balancing risks and benefits in the outdoors' which is aimed at teachers and other children's service professionals. The publication aims to explode the myths about safety on school visits and give real assurance to teachers, encouraging readers to take a reasonable and proportionate approach to safety and reassures them that a degree of risk, properly managed, is positively desirable in helping young people to learn to manage their own safety. The publication has been endorsed by HSE and ROSPA.
