MPs Attack Drop In School Trips
The Children, Schools and Families Select Committee published a report earlier this month endorsing the importance of learning outside the classroom and recommending further funding from the DCSF to improve and increase provision. It makes the recommendation that every pupil should be entitled to at least one school trip per term. The cross-party group of MPs urged ministers to ensure school trips did not become the preserve of pupils from private schools and said that health and safety concerns from state schools had been a "significant barrier to school trips" . They urged the Government to publish guidance "at the earliest opportunity".
