HSE Investigate Zip Wire Death

Police and the Health and Safety Executive have launched an investigation into the cause of the death of an 11 year old boy who fell from a Zip Wire at GreenWood Forest Park at Y Felinheli in Gwynedd, North Wales on Sunday afternoon. The tragedy happened on a 145-metre long tree top ride that only opened for the first time last Monday and claimed to be the longest of its kind in Wales going up to a height of 9m. The Park's Operations Manager, Steve Williams said "All I can say is the safety kit was examined at 10:00am in line with our normal safety procedures." Park owner Stephen Bristow said the Zip Wire would be closed "for the forseeable future" until all investigations have been carried out.
