Future Secured For Shropshire Centre

A fundraising effort with a major refurbishment project being completed almost a year ahead of its schedule has secured the future of a Shropshire activity centre for the next 20 years. More than £40,000 has been raised for the second phase of refurbishment at Longmynd Adventure Camp in the Shropshire Hills near Church Stretton. Organisers revealed that The Roy Fletcher Charitable Trust raised a fun of £17,000 to pay for the final phase of refurbishment, installing solar panels for heating and power. Centre bosses had hoped to complete the project by 2012 at the earliest but will now finish it within months.
