Europass For GB Ski Instructors

An EU plan to change employment law may make it easier for British Ski Instructors to get jobs in the Alps. The European Commission is currently formulating plans for a "Eurocard" for 800 professions, including ski instruction, which would entitle card holders to work in any EU country which signs up to the system. The French national newspaper Libération has said that French ski professionals "denounce the unfair competition and fear the effects of the introduction of the European professional card". The new qualification would enable greater freedom of movement for instructors throughout the EU, but in a recent meeting to agree on the details for the new tests, France was said to have raised multiple objections. Around 500,000 British skiers visit France very season and many prefer to take lessons in English.
